Altair

Description

Altair is a family of serif typefaces designed for editorial use. A large x-height and open letterforms enhance readability across a wide range of text sizes. Ascenders that rise slightly above the capitals and numerals help preserve a traditional word image, while the typeface’s sharply delineated, streamlined forms give text a distinctive, dramatic presence. These details introduce visual character without unnecessary ornamentation. Dots and punctuation are round, while many lowercase terminals end in sharp, wedge-shaped forms—features that are intentionally pronounced.
