Softgrid is a family of sans-serif fonts with a technical yet friendly appearance. The letterforms are all fairly rectilinear in structure and appear to have been constructed or drawn by an architect or engineer. Proportionally, many of the uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and numerals seem almost to share the same widths; nevertheless, this is far from a monospace typeface—just look at the ‘i’ or ‘t’. Visually, the letterforms in the typeface recall many of the more constructed lettering styles used by designers during the 1950s and ’60s. At the same time, the edges of the letterforms do not feel stiff or cold. The corners on each stroke ending are rounded off.
