Otelios

Description

Otelios is a geometric sans serif typeface with subtle humanist traits designed to enhance legibility. Its clean, monolinear letterforms are largely based on geometric shapes, but certain characters — such as ‘S’, ‘e’, ‘f’, ‘s’, ‘t’, ‘5’, ‘6’, ‘9’, and the default ampersand (‘&’) — incorporate humanist structures for improved readability. These humanist glyphs feature open counters, allowing for better clarity, especially in smaller sizes or on digital screens. The rounded dots on letters and punctuation lend Otelios a friendly, approachable feel, making it suitable for corporate design, user interfaces, and various editorial applications. Designed by Rafał Buchner, Otelios maintains a consistent top alignment, with equal cap-height, ascender height, and numeral height, ensuring visual harmony throughout.
